Dataset: People on Universal Credit

Field: Westminster Parliamentary Constituencies

Description

Parliamentary constituency is based on the address of the claimant.

It is possible for the claimant to reside in a different Local Authority to the one administering their claim.

Therefore, it may not always be possible to make direct comparisons between parliamentary constituency and Local Authority data.

Quality Statement

Parliamentary constituency is derived from the claimant's postcode. This postcode relates to a claimant's place of residence and not the Jobcentre Plus office administering the claim.

In a very small proportion of cases, where postcode is missing, a postcode is randomly assigned and the parliamentary constituency is determined from that postcode. There are a very small number of records that are still recorded as unknown because the postcode is invalid.
